MATCH PLAY – LOSS OF HOLE STROKE PLAY – TWO STROKES
GROUND UNDER REPAIR – RULE 25-1
An area enclosed by a white line or marked “G.U.R.” is ground under repair from which play is prohibited. If a player’s ball lies in the area, or if it interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 25-1.
SEAMS OF CUT TURF
Through the green, seams of cut turf (not the turf itself) are deemed to be Ground Under Repair. However, interference by a seam with the players stance, is deemed not to be, or itself, interference under rule 25-1. If the ball lies in or touches the seam or the seam interferes with the area of intended swing, relief is available under rule 25-1. All seam within the cut turf area are considered the same seam.
DROUGHT CRACKS, TRACTOR MARKS & CHANNELS LEFT BY DRAINAGE WORK:
Through the green, relief may be taken where a ball comes to rest in or touches any of these three conditions. Before taking relief, a player must obtain the agreement of his opponent or marker. Note: a ball which is playable and coming to rest on bare ground besides a tree whether staked or not, no relief may be taken unless covered by another rule.
PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES – 24-2B
Protection of young trees identified by being staked. If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b (immovable obstruction). The ball may be cleaned when lifted under this local rule. Exception: a player may not obtain relief under this local rule if (a) it is clearly unreasonable for him to make a stroke because of interference by anything other than the tree or (b) interference by the tree would occur only through use of an unnecessarily abnormal stance, swing or direction of play.
RELIEF FOR EMBEDDED BALL; CLEANING BALL RULE 25-2
Through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. Exception: a player may not obtain relief under this Local Rule if it is clearly unreasonable for him to make a stroke because of interference by anything other than the condition covered by this Local Rule.
STONES IN BUNKERS – RULE 24-1
Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions and may be removed.
CULVERT & COVER 4TH HOLE - RULE 24 -2
The culvert & cover to the right hand side of the green is an immovable obstruction.
OUT OF BOUNDS - RULE 27 1.
In or over any boundary fence, hedge, ditch or trench or as demonstrated by white post(s). 2. Clubhouse Terrace and immediate area: On or over the flowerbeds in front of the clubhouse, and on or over the terrace surrounding the Clubhouse. On or over the car park. 3. Over and beyond the white posts extending from the third tee to the boundary fence. Note: Ball coming to rest on the Putting Green, the player is to proceed under rule 25-3, wrong putting green. ROADS & PATH WAYS; These are all immovable obstructions; relief can be taken within one club length at the nearest point but no nearer the Green.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTION CLOSE TO PUTTING GREEN; SPRINKLER HEADS – RULE 24 - 2
If a ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard, and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief. The ball must be dropped at be nearest point to where it lay that is not nearer the hole, avoids the intervention, and is not in the hazard or on the putting green.
PUTTING GREENS
On the putting green, a ball coming to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the nearest spot not nearer the hole that avoids the situation
